About me

I am a full-time cruiser living on my boat. I don’t have a specific plan for sailing for the next few years. I started sailing in Greece in 2014, then slowly (after three seasons there) I moved to Croatia, then Italy and then Spain. While sailing in Italy I suddenly realized that the next sailing destination should be west of Europe, not back to Mediterranean Sea. So, me and a friend we crossed the Atlantic in the end of 2018. We sailed from Canary Islands south to Cabo Verde, then to St. Lucia. It was 24 days in total. Anyway, my original plan was to sail there for one season and then in May return back to Europe. After spending only few weeks in the Caribbean I felt that one season is definitely not enough and I should spend more time hopping these beautiful islands. I went as far as Puerto Rico, visiting also BVI and US Virgin Islands on the way there. After that I spent the hurricane season in Trinidad on the hard (very nice people and shipyards) and then I sailed one more season sailing north all the way to Guadalupe. Then I crossed to Bonaire, Curacao and Aruba. These were beautiful islands although not very sailors friendly to be honest. After that I crossed over to Jamaica with intention to sail to Bahamas, Turks and Caicos etc. Unfortunately then Covid restrictions started and I had to spend two months on anchor, in quarantine (the best quarantine ever!). At the end of May 2020 Panama opened their borders for sailors and I was one of the first to get there. After two more weeks in quarantine I managed to go on the hard and that’s it – my sailing was over for the time being. Later that year I returned to Panama to start some projects and repairs, also I replaced my old Genoa. My original plan at that point was to sail to French Polynesia but it was actually closed for new incoming boats so I decided to go north after Panama – Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Salvador. Those were really nice places although not very cruiser friendly. I left the boat for three months in Salvador and I returned to Europe because I did not want to spend the hurricane season in Mexico.

After returning from Europe I sailed to Mexico and I managed to reach all the way to the most northern part of the Baja California – Puerto Penasco. Everywhere I went sailing along the Mexican coast I met so many friendly people – local and otherwise.

Last year we crossed the Pacific Ocean all the way from Puerto Vallarta in Mexico to Marquesas islands in French Polynesia. I spent almost the entire year to hop from island to island.

This May I plan on continuing sailing west from here to Cook Islands, Nuie, Tonga and Fiji. After that – we’ll see…
