Well, well, well. I have around a week or 10 days here. After that I’m getting out of here…
Anyway, I still have a long list of tasks to fulfill and some paperwork to finish but I hope at the end of April I’ll be ready!
Today was a bit of a long day. After yesterday’s storm this morning greeted us with a sunny sky and around 15-20 knots of wind from NE. It was not the best wind to sail from Raiatea to Huahine but at least the swell was less than normal and was very comfortable actually. The engine is running very well now after the bigger repairs last year in Mexico and after replacing the gearbox oil last week while on the hard.
I added two new LiFePo4 batteries last month while I was still in Tahiti and now I am much more relaxed about using electrical power – e.g. I leave Starlink powered on all night long! My wind vane sensor is also repaired (actually it was a faulty cable, not the sensor itself, so I left the old sensor in place).
Now, let me tell you about my newest cooking invention. I had some veal leg or something like that (I don’t remember the word in French) and I was wondering what should I do with it and here’s the newest recipe:
-
- Cut the veal in small pieces.
- Cut a lot of onion
- Cut some garlic
- Cut some aubergines (maybe pepper too but I did not have any)
- Cut some carrots
- Cut some haricots verts (which is green beans in French but this way sounds fancier)
- Put some oil
- Put a lot of black pepper
- Put some crazy hot spicy powder (I bought it from Mexico last year)
- Cook on a slow speed (so to speak) for around 40 minutes.
- That’s it!
- Tomorrow I am meeting my friends Christine and Michell (very nice French couple that sail around too), I brought them some paint from Raiatea. These guys are the only French people that tolerate my French and also they correct me. That way I learn :)!
